Brant goose (Branta bernicla)
Saw over 150 of them today on shore at Lighthouse Park in Point Roberts, WA.
There were also many other good birds out including Red-breasted Mergansers displaying in courtship and Common Loons and Red-necked grebes in breeding plumage. There were also Harlequin ducks, Buffleheads, Barn Swallows and Pelagic cormorants and Surf Scoters, American Goldfinches and Savannah Sparrows, Bald Eagles and sea lions! A great day to be at the beach in the sun on Earth Day.
