I took the photograph the way it is composed because I wanted to light paint my subject, which is a phoenix. What makes this photograph interesting is how there is a bright light coming off the head of the phoenix (symbolizing the sun); the phoenix is associated with the sun, and there is also a slight light trail next to the wings and the tails of the phoenix to convey motion. The emotion/feeling I am trying to convey in the photograph is legendary. The phoenix is a legendary figure. The setting I chose to use to take this photograph is of an aperture f/13.0 because I wanted my subject to be sharp. I also chose a shutter speed of 30 because I wanted to give myself enough time to light paint and for the camera to capture all the possible light from the flash. Finally, I chose an ISO of 100 because I did not want any noise in the photograph.
