California Bighorn Sheep

As I have previously said in my photo captions, the bighorn sheep of I-84 were moved into other areas of Oregon (or so I had thought). What I did not know is that they only moved a fraction of them, and I am happy to say that most of them are still there. I counted over 60 when I drove there a few weeks ago. I found in particular a few groups of ewes close to the road, though they are usually more skiddish than the rams. When I photographed this Ewe, she was accompanied by three other ewes and they led me up the slope until I overlooked the entire Columbia River. Once I started heading back down, I was over 400 yards up the slope. They can really be a pain! But, they are very fun to photograph and it was nice to get photos of the females for once. I did photograph many rams as well, and saw even more, but sadly I did not see the record-book ram that I have photographed so many times and have frequently posted photos of. Hopefully he was not one of the ones that was moved and I just missed him. I will definitely be looking every time I go there for him.
