Client Work - Stazlyn Morgan
Hello everyone! I hope you all are having an amazing start to your weekend (long weekend, for my fellow Canadians!) Today I will be sharing the second set of photos of an interior design project that we have recently completed for our client, Stazlyn.
In the first photo, you are getting a peak into Stazlyn’s kitchen. A couple of the biggest requests that Stazlyn had when it came to her kitchen, was that we create a very large island, provide her with ample cooking space & provide her with three glass door fridges. The island is complete with not one, but two sinks, as well as two dishwashers, each being adjacent to the sinks. The island also conservatively fits 7 bar stools, however, I can confidently say that the island would comfortably fit 8-9 bar stools in total. In terms of cooking space, we’ve incorporated two large 6 burner ranges, giving Stazlyn a total of 12 burners to work with, when cooking for her large friends and family gatherings. In addition to the large ovens that are apart of each range, we’ve included and additional 4 wall ovens, ensuring there is always an oven available to throw a meal into. In terms of the glass door fridges, which are out of shot to the right of this photo, we’ve created a large double glass door fridge in the centre of the wall, with a single glass door fridge on each side of it, making the fridges symmetrical and really pleasing to the eye. Opposite the fridges, we’ve created a well thought out beverage centre, complete with two full sized wine fridges, coffee bar & refrigerated drawers to house bottled waters, pop, coffee creamers, etc. As with all of our projects, and as you’ve likely seen in the last photo I posted, which was of a bathroom we’ve designed in Stazlyn’s home, we have continued with our theme of creating custom mesh flooring in our client’s spaces. In most of the living areas throughout Stazlyn’s home, we’ve gone for a slightly grey tinted herringbone wooden floor, surrounded by a highly polished black marble inlay & wooden border, which I think highly compliments the design language and décor throughout Stazlyn’s home.
In the second photo, you are taking a look into Stazlyn’s breakfast room, which is adjacent to the kitchen (the kitchen is to the left of this shot) As a breakfast room is generally a more intimate space in one’s home, we opted to design the space with seating for four, instead of making it a larger and more grand space. We wanted the décor in this space to be simple in nature, while still having visual impact and peaking visitors interest, and delivering on our client's aesthetic. To ground the space, we started with two very large matching black pieces of art, elegantly lit from above with wall mounted art lighting. To add in some lighter elements and add contrast to the dark art, we went for an off-white circular stone table, paired with black wooden frame chairs, complete with tan coloured wicker backing & leather cushions. To finish off the space, we threw down a really versatile cream coloured rug, a trio of vases within the centre of the table, and one of my absolute favourite light fixtures from The Loft & Aria.
As always, my team & I thank you so much for following us along our design journey & supporting The Design Firm! The support is honestly what keeps us going.
Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.
