My LL Home!
Hello everyone! I hope you are all having an amazing start to your weekend. Today I will be sharing the first set of photos of my personal LL home! I know I’m a little bit late to the bandwagon, however, about 90% of my time within SL is consumed with client projects that Rooky & I are commissioned for, so I haven’t had a ton of time to dive into my LL home and make it my own!
In this first set of photos, I thought I’d start off by giving you a sneak peek into my main floor/primary bathroom. Keeping in mind that I am limited to a maximum of 351 prims, for both interior and exterior décor, I had to choose and utilize all pieces wisely. The very first thing that I did, as you will see in all of these photos, is replace all flooring with custom mesh flooring. For those of you that have been following our work for a while, this won’t come as a surprise! I have an addiction with replacing flooring in any space that I am working on, just so that I can maximize our ability to customize the space for the client that we are working with at that time. Flooring is such a large chunk of any space that you work on, so I always recommend starting from the ground up when designing your space. With that being said, I chose to design this space in a colour palette that I hold near and dear to my heart, black, white & grey. This is the colour palette that I used frequently when I was just starting out in my SL design career, well before Rooky & I partnered up to create The Design Firm! Whenever I come back to it, I find myself getting a bit nostalgic (back to the old days, when SL furniture was prim and sculpty!) I chose to keep the décor simple, maximizing my prim savings. I opted to use as many towels as I could, as these are items that link together well, and help reduce overall land impact, while still filling in spaces that need a little something, and keeping within a bathroom/wet room theme. Most pieces you will see in these photos are from The Loft & Aria, Fancy Décor & Mudhoney. These three stores have been around for years, and are in my opinion, design institutions within the Second Life home & garden community. As a result, the creators behind these brands know how to maximize the impact that their pieces have, while keeping the land impact minimal. This makes their stores the perfect places to start your search, when looking to furnish not only your LL home, but any space within SL.
With all of my rambles above, I just wanted to mention that I have taken these photos myself in Black Dragon! The amazing & lovely Sean is still our beloved photographer at The Design Firm, however, I am trying to better myself and learn a new skill, which happens to be SL photography! It’s a hobby at best, so you can rest assured that I am not coming for Sean’s job hahaha!
As I say in all of my posts, thank you all for the continued support that is shown to our small team here at The Design Firm. It means an absolute ton to us <3
Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.
