Whitewash Will Have To Do
The Abbey Church in the monastic town of New Norcia, 120km north of Perth, is constructed of random rubble masonry, no doubt found locally.
The monastery was founded in the 1840s - how old the church is I don't know. But at sometime, someone had the idea of adding a bit of a faux classic look with some whitewash columns and window surrounds.
It does make a difference.
