Waiting till the 11th hour
With the new tunnel line due to open in Spring 2026, it was now or never to try to do the Koper ramp. I had only spent one day on this beautiful railway before and had very bad luck so I decided to set aside 4 days to properly cover the ramp. The first day was wildly successful with non stop action and the majority of trains either pushed or pulled by 363 Class Brigittes. After a 2 hour drive from Zagreb, I arrived just in time to capture a pair of 363s howling up the 2.5% grade, with 363 015 pushing a heavy string of hoppers.This angle at Hrastovlje was high on my list as it really shows the gradient, so was great to get it within 30 minutes of arriving!
