MAVs fleet of Retro locomotives still are used most of the time in day to day service. On the way back from my Slovakia trip last summer I spent two days in Hungary and lucked into retro V43 1001 on the Bakony circuit. This one had also eluded me previously and was happy to capture it on a regular service. Here the loco is seen leading a Budapest bound service at Ösku, thankfully with a still matching consist. In the west of Hungary the trains are increasingly becoming a optical mess as MAV has an identity crisis with atleast two new paint scheme variants....
