After a long wait under a slow moving cloud, 243 002 heads north through Gau Algesheim in perfect evening light. The beautifully restored locomotive is pulling a DB company special from Darmstadt to Koblenz. Despite the weed grown appearance, this is 150 kmh (93 mph) track, with the straightaways on either side being good for 160. The weed spray train that was buzzing around the area must have missed this spot.
