Big Croc at work

I normally eat lunch at my desk at work but two weeks ago I recieved a heads up that I just could not ignore. The Elektrische Zugförderung Württemberg is a small preservations group is the owner of this fully functional 1943 beast. This E94 was built in very dark times in the midst of WWII but went on to serve a half century in regular service with the Austrian OEBB. After retirement the locomotive returned to Germany and has been restored to running condition. The society regularly rents the locomotive to freight undertakings for use in regular service and is kind enough to provide information on their facebook site. The night before I had found out the train would be running north on the Rhein valley line in the mid morning. The only problem was the planned time was coincident with the normal Monday office meeting....so I would have to hope for delays. The timing worked out just right and I was able to duck out of work, catch the hourly train to Niederwalluf and frantically bike to the photo spot. After about 30 minutes the near 70 year old locomotive rounded the curve with a long string of tankcars with shutters clicking away from the many fans on hand. Then back to the office without lunch....luckily I have some ramen noodles in my desk drawer for such occasions...
