Tromsø Cathedral
The Tromsø Cathedral (Tromsø domkirke), located in the center of Tromsø, is the only wooden cathedral in Norway and one of the largest wooden churches in the country. The church was built in 1861 in a Neo-Gothic style, designed by architect Christian Heinrich Grosch. Its tall spire and light-colored wood give it a distinctive appearance, especially when illuminated at night. The cathedral serves as the seat of the Bishop of Nord-Hålogaland and remains an active parish church today.
