Holywell Bay
I did rather enjoy our visit to Holywell Bay on Saturday evening. So much so that I'm sharing a second photo with you all. I've had this composition in mind for a while now, and watching Demelza Poldark stroll through the scene recently reminded me to return and shoot it again, although sadly she'd returned to wherever it is that all the famous people go when they're not on the screen in the corner of our living rooms.
It still needs a bit of improvement to be honest. The rocks, which my friend who lives in nearby Crantock tells me are known locally as "The Chicks" (maybe that's just her) aren't quite even spaced between the foreground curtain, but if I'd moved to the left the setting sun would have blown the image. The light however was wonderful, and after the sun had set it became increasingly intense and rich - if you spotted my previous post you'll have seen this already - and it was difficult to tear ourselves away, despite the pints of Korev that were waiting in the hostelry which happily sits just off the beach.
The strange thing about Holywell Bay is that I always question myself when I decide to go, yet I always come away feeling happy.
