Holywell Bay
If you've been watching Poldark on the BBC this view is going to be very familiar. If you haven't, don't fret - it's not compulsory, although it is a bit compulsive when most of the locations (except for "Truro" which I believe has been relocated to somewhere in the Cotswolds) are within a short drive of home. I guess we're blessed to live here.
It's a while since we've ventured out of an evening locally. After a trip to Iceland in July we returned home to find the beaches and car parks jam packed with summer visitors as they are each year. Finding a couple in matching attitudes as they strolled across the beach in the afterglow left by the sunset was exactly what i was looking for.
Apart from the fact that I work in education, September is a lovely time in Cornwall. The weather is often better than it was in August, the sea is warm and the beaches are quieter. A couple of nights earlier we went body boarding just down the coast from here and ended up having a barbecue under the stars. Before we know it the winter storms will be back, brutal, relentless and eminently photogenic. It's all about taking the positives as another fantastic summer comes to a close.
