Loch Tulla and the Scots Pines

I've been here twice now. The first time was walking the West Highland Way in 2015, and the second was just a couple of weeks ago on a beautifully crisp and sunny February Sunday afternoon.

What struck me on both occasions was how delightfully serene Loch Tulla is. It's a long way from any sort of village although the nearby Inveroran Hotel has received Charles Dickens and Dorothy Wordsworth among its guests over the mists of time.

My brother Dave insisted we stop at Loch Tulla as we made our way south to our final location at Kilchurn, and I'm so glad he did. This pair of pines are on a calendar provided by a local supplier (I live in Cornwall) and I'd already permanently frozen it at May 2017 because of my love for the Scottish Highlands. Now a print of my own sits beside the calendar on my office wall.

We'll be back again in May - this time hiking once more as the West Highland Way reunion brings old friends together. I really cannot wait.
