Lochan na h-Achlaise

On the final day of our visit, we grudgingly made our way south from Glencoe along Rannoch Moor on the A82. I'd hoped that we might make this spot either first or last thing one day, but in the event I think we were very lucky with the conditions when we arrived here in the late morning.

Lochan na h-Achlaise sits opposite Loch Ba on lovely Rannoch Moor in a stunning landscape, studded with small islands covered in wind beaten trees. The weather was calm, bright, even warm as long as you were wearing enough layers. In such still conditions we were able to capture some wonderful reflections of the mountains to the west. I couldn't think of anywhere better to fill my snow boots with mud on a February Sunday morning in paradise.
