Trevose Lighthouse

As featured on Practical Photography Magazine App's Photo of the Week - May 2019

Well Saturday was fun! Wind and sunshine on the north coast of Cornwall made for a promising afternoon and with cameras in bags, Lee and I set off on the long journey up north to Bedruthan and then Trevose. Ok, long journey north might be stretching it, but it took a while to end up here anyway.

We arrived here at low tide, believe it or not, and the sea was frothing away happily as we each headed for sheltered nooks on the small isthmus opposite the lighthouse. Arguably it's a one shot location, but on the handful of occasions we've ventured here the conditions have been different. This time, the sun was casting a lovely colour onto the lighthouse and the cauldron below us, and the 6 stop filter which had been sitting on my lens all day was having a lovely time producing exposure times of 1 - 2 seconds. Keeping the lens clear of seaspray was a bit of a job though.

One day we'll head here when it's positively biblical. I keep saying that though.........
