Holywell Bay

I knew it was going to be a difficult session when I realised I'd left my reading glasses in the car, which apart from meaning I couldn't see what was on the screen also found me struggling to use the spirit level on my tripod.

It was low tide and the beach was more or less empty, save for a few dog walkers taking the afternoon constitutional on the big open acres of sand. So when a black labrador that had just raced across the water in front of me decided to shake itself dry within four feet of the supposedly safe place where I'd left the camera bag as I struggled to keep the tripod level on the wet sand I was starting to get a bit grumpy.

I was also finding it difficult to pick out the leading lines towards the two rocks which were the main subject, but hopefully I've produced something worthwhile. Next time here will be in a month or so when the sun should be setting directly in between these rocks. Maybe they'll be filming Poldark and Demelza will come along and hold my camera bag for me.
