West Highland Way on Rannoch Moor
Another unusual image from our summer hike in Scotland. Day 5 found us marching across Thomas Telford's 200 year old military road on Rannoch Moor between the Inveroran and Kingshouse Hotels. This was part of a 29 mile section with no villages, or even a shop in between the start and finish. The weather was glorious and it was absolutely silent and still here. Stopping for a break, my son Tom performs crunches in the centre of the path, with Anna, a teacher from North Carolina who we met on our journey. I just helped myself to a Snickers bar and some Haribo while I looked for my camera.
