A Night at the Castle
While Bodiam Castle is a spectacular sight in broad daylight, visiting the grounds after sunset had definitely an eerie touch to it. I checked with the people of the National Trust while we visited during daytime if it was OK if we roamed the grounds after closing hours (there is a public footpath running through the grounds). Luckily it was OK (maybe being a NT member helped ;-) )
With the moon slowly rising in the south east we only had to share the castle with a couple of ducks. Someone had left the lights on, adding the impression of the castle still being lived in. Talk about spooky :-)
