Chapel of St John Sarkander
This magnificent neo-baroque chapel is a two-level structure crowned with a dome with a lantern opening. The middle of the chapel has a circular opening into the basement, where a torture rack from Sarkander’s time.
The interior of the chapel is impressively illuminated by daylight from the lantern opening which penetrates through the circular hole in the floor down to the basement.
The circular room is a tight space to photograph. My 10mm full frame lens came in handy for capturing as much as possible of this impressive interior. The chapel is located in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
