IAR-330L Puma SOCAT 64 + 67 + 79 RoAF | Baza 95 Aeriană Bacău Open Day 2017

Intersection of three low-flying helicopters during the display of a combined-forces operation, Open Day at Baza 95 Aeriană Erou Căpitan Aviator Alexandru Șerbănescu Bacău.

These helos are Romanian-made IAR-330 Puma of the 330L SOCAT variant (Sistem Optronic de Cercetare si lupta Anti-Tanc), meaning optronic system for reconnaissance and anti-tank fighting. This version was developed with Elbit Systems, using their sensors, fire control system and weapons. A variety of weapons can be carried on the 4 pylons, including 57mm unguided rockets in multiple launch tubes (UB-16-57 seen here) and Rafael Spike anti-tank missiles. Under the nose is a French Nexter M261 THL-20 20mm autocannon on a fully articulated turret.
