This unit is draped in memorial shrouding and flowers following the loss of Police Officer Hunter Edwards who lost his life in the line of duty from a single-vehicle crash while responding to a fight in progress call involving approximately 100 people in downtown Winchester on at approximately 10:50 pm November 24, 2018.
Winchester Police Officer Hunter Edwards was a four year veteran of the Winchester Police Department. During his tenure at the WPD, he was assigned to the patrol division as well as the Special Weapons and Tactics Team and the Civil Disturbance Unit. Officer Edwards leaves behind a wife and young stepson.
