The return leg of the joint London Regional Transport/British Rail "Romney Hythe & Dymchurch" rail tour is seen at Teynham en route from Dover Western Docks to London Blackfriars (and then on to Clapham Junction) on 21 September 1985. This most unusual tour had former Metropolitan Railway electric locomotive 12 "Sarah Siddons" as its motive power. The loco was new in 1922, built by the Metropolitan Amalgamated Railway Carriage and Wagon Company.
