IoMSPCo car ferry "Mona's Queen" Douglas
the "Mona's Queen" was the Steam Packet's first diesel vessel, being built 1971/2 by Ailsa Shipbuilding of Troon. She (and sister "Lady of Man") employed a novel side-loading system - the ro-ro system would not arrive on Man for some years. "Mona's Queen" served the island for nearly 30 years before being sold for service in south-east Asia. She was sold for scrap in 2008.
