The TUC’s ‘Unity in the Community’ music event is being held on November 11 in response to the angst that has become apparent amongst many immigrant communities following the EU referendum in June and the reported rise in race hate crimes.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with all groups in our opposition to racism and scapegoating and are clear that we want ‘unity in the community’.
Racism and xenophobia has no place to play in an inclusive, tolerant society and we do not wish to see divisions and hatred in Stoke and North Staffordshire.
We are proud of all our communities and want our communities to be open, inclusive and strong.
We support the TUC ‘Unity in the Community’ initiative and pledge to continue to work to tackle racism in our communities and to continually build community resilience and celebrate all communities within Stoke and North Staffordshire.
