Spring is here....sort of
Despite the fact that it's brown season in Northern New England, a true sign of spring is an opportunity to shoot trains in daylight after work. Acting on a hot tip from flickrer justinthebluecarguy that westbound Pan Am Railways freight POED had a painted unit leading I headed for Wells. The Bragdon Road crossing offers a good straight on telephoto to block any unsightly trailing units and also has a pretty good dip in the track profile. Trailing ex CSX C40-8 #7518 was unpainted ex CSX C40-8 #7594 and ex QNSL SD40-2 #3400. The train would pause at CPF 241 in Rollinsford, NH to allow the New Hampshire Northcoast gravel train to go into Dover ahead of POED, also waiting at CPF 241 was eastbound train EDPO.
