The combined Central Maine & Quebec Railway, Vermont Rail System and Pan Am Railways business train trip on Tuesday was a rare opportunity to chase a train straight through from Farnham, Quebec to White River Junction, Vermont over two railroads. The Pan Am business cars were deadheaded from Northern Maine Junction, Maine up and over to Farnham on Sunday. After laying over in White River Junction overnight, the passenger part of the trip would terminate in East Deerfield on Wednesday. On Friday/Saturday the CMQ unit brought the business cars back to Waterville. When the CMQ unit arrives back at Northern Maine Junction it will have completed an 800+ mile circle. Of course the weather was the typical winter doom and gloom, but still a unique day. In this shot the train is approaching downtown Newport as it crosses a cove in frozen Lake Memphremagog.
