The last of the new

The last vestige of the "new" Quebec Central is the short run from the CN yard in Joffre to a feed mill Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon. In 2010, the train was running a couple times a week with a high hood U23B and a pair of GP11's for power. The Quebec Central was abandoned by CP in 1994, with the tracks remaining in place. In 1999 a local business man revived the QC and ran several of the branches until around 2006 when it was shut down again. Recently the owner of the railway died leading to questions about the last of the operations. Rumors are the new Sartigan Railway may take over...
