De style néogothique, elle fut construite à partir de 1913, grâce aux dons du conte Sébastien Gregori, et inaugurée le 3 décembre 1916, par Mr Augustin Simeone, évêque d'Ajaccio, avant d'être consacrée, ainsi que le rappelle l'inscription tantine qui surmonte la porte latérale le 4 mars 1917. Touché par les bombardements de 1943, l'édifice perdit alors sa voûte et ses vitraux d'origine, seul la statue de notre dame de lourdes qui domine le chœur demeura intacte dans la grotte. Restauré à la fin de la guerre elle fut à nouveau inaugurée le 30 juin 1946. Son premier curé et fondateur le chamoine Eugène Leschi repose dans la crypte derrière à Sainte-Bernadette Soubirous.
