Drowned

Teatree Web Moth (Orthaga thyrisalis) caterpillars have been all over our Callistemon “Brogo Overflow” for months. After a storm blew in and pelted the shrub with heavy rain, it washed away many of the nests and drowned some of the caterpillars. They are a pest to plants like Leptospermum and Callistemon, so while it was an unfortunate event for the caterpillars, it was good for the plants. [Lower Blue Mountains, NSW]
