A Natural Cross

“Grevillea × gaudichaudii is a prostrate shrub which is endemic to New South Wales. It is a naturally occurring hybrid between Grevillea acanthifolia subsp. acanthifolia and Grevillea laurifolia. [Wikipedia] This is another one we put into the garden to cover out scrappy embankment in the front. Hopefully they will have made a dense matting by the end of next year and will block out weeds. They have recently begun flowering! It pleases me that this popular groundcover naturally occurred in the Blue Mountains where G. laurifolia is endemic. [Lower Blue Mountains, NSW]
