Backstory: The cousin of Riley Blackburn, the hero known as Skios. Being from the Blackburn family, Briar has access to the shadows. Being able to traverse from one shadow, to another, in the blink of an eye. Growing up, Briar seeked attention from her parents, as well as her fellow classmates. She would do anything to obtain it, even going so far as to shoplift from nearby jewelry stores. Using her powers, she'd be able to get in and out before anyone noticed. Unfortunately for her, she'd be reprimanded quite a bit, when her parents found out. She would end up having to return everything, as well as losing access to any other privileges she had at the time. Whether that's phone, computer, or home consoles. But the thrill was just too addicting for Briar, so she would create a costume, and an alias, Shadowstep. She would end up in the same high school as her cousin Riley, which led to her sticking up for him several times against bullies
