Macro Mondays theme : Hard Light
According to Wikipedia the “Red Planet”, also know as Mars, is 6780 km in diameter. I don’t know if Janet would approve my picture if it was the real thing! I think I would be in trouble with the 3” guideline… 😉
Actually, the red marble I used is of a more reasonable size, measuring an outstanding 0.000016 km in diameter (or 5/8” if you prefer). Still too small to be called a dwarf planet. The shadow itself is a little under 2” wide.
I took this picture in the afternoon, using the natural daylight. The intensity of the light was sufficient to cast a very dark and distinct shadow on the white surface.
