Boiling Mountains
Simplon pass. Valais, Switzerland.
From the summit of Galehorn (2.800m - 9,186ft), view toward the Berner Alpen and the summit of Bietschon, capped with heat clouds.
It was a damn hot day, so hot that, even on the top of the mountain, the cold, North wind that usually blow over the Simplon pass area felt like a sort of warm breeze from some distant african desert.
Dalla cima del Galehorn (2.800 m), vista sulle Alpi Bernesi e sulla cima del Bietschon, avvolta dalle nuvole.
Una giornata caldissima, così calda che, anche in cima alla montagna, il vento freddo che di solito soffia da nord sulla zona del Passo del Sempione sembrava una brezza proveniente da qualche lontano deserto africano.
