Antrona

July, the 27th, 1,642 AC.

Antrona valley. Italy.

A huge rockslide falls from the summit called Cima di Pozzuoli, destroys more than 40 buildings and kills almost 100 people.

The waters of Rio Troncone, blocked by the debris, fill up this Lake, now named Lago d'Antrona.

The high peak in the background is Punta di Saas, or Laterhorn. The wall of the dam of Cingino Reservoir, built at the beginning of the last century is also visible.

Ventisette Luglio 1642.
