American Fjord
In an interesting example of synchronicity, this was the first photo I saw after discussing reflections in the Photo Critique group. The subject was how the water can affect the color and luminance of the reflection, and here we see another example of that.
The sky's reflection is all in disturbed water, but the trees are not, and yet they are much deeper green in the reflection.
This was shot while traveling up one of the 'arms' of one of the bays in Alaska. I don't remember which one, but this is pretty typical. You can see how steep the slope is, and that steepness is what defines a fjord, and what allows the enormous boat to cruise that close to shore. You could probably have hit one of the trees with a rock. Or a beer bottle, which is probably why they felt the need for the 'Do not throw anything overboard' sticker on the wall.
