writerinalife says: There's no doubt about the quality, skills, composition and everything about Lucian's photography - "Perfect" and "Excellent" are the starting words I would use to describe about his photographs. On top of perfection and excellence, he has shown us his continuous pursuit of creativity and inspiration. Lucian's photo stream is a fabulous gallery itself and there is no point for me to include all of his photos in my gallery - I have chosen this outstanding work as an example in my "WOW" gallery. Kudos to Lucian!

writerinalife says: Lothar Brademann's Photo Stream - Lato-Pictures is a powerful gallery of wonder, beauty, drama and fascination. Just like this selected image Paradise, from Lothar's photo work, you see a brilliant play of shadows and lights in extraordinary composition, giving magic powers to a motive and turn it into a totally different world, giving the viewers a lot of wow and awe. A lot of his photo work in the Stream are panorama and is best enjoyed on a big screen.

writerinalife says: The Photo Stream of Michael Cohen is like a channel of National Geography to me. I have enjoyed from his Photo Stream a lot of excellent wildlife photographs - there are not "only" excellent shots of amazing actions and marvelous sceneries, but also very informative and interesting explanation/narratives and the names and behaviors, very fascinating. Another series of motives in his Photo Stream is the landscape/seascape photographs - they are extraordinary and beautiful, and you can also learn from his narratives about how these wonderful photographs were done. There are so many "WOW" photographs in Michael's Photo Stream, making it difficult for me to choose only one for this gallery, therefore I have decided to use this most recent photograph - Coral Cove in B & W to represent his excellent techniques and composition.

writerinalife says: The first time I saw Junji Aoyama's Photo stream, I was very surprised. I never thought that the Photo stream at Flickr could be carefully designed in a way that you always see macro of flowers in one side, and a landscape photographs of the same place on the other side. I have not carefully counted, but based on the numbers of photos sorted in his two different albums and the amount of photos I have glanced through in his stream, I think he has done it this way for almost a thousand photos. What fascinated me was, why does he never get bored about taking pictures of the same thing? And if you look at those pictures, they never duplicate. Even for the same island (actually there is a shrine on that island) where you see hundreds of photographs in Junji's photo stream, they all have different sceneries - still, peaceful, wavy, sunny, stormy, dreamy, intriguing, dramatic...etc. And all of them are fantastic. The macro photographs in his Photo stream are as well completely perfect and beautiful. His work reminds me about the Zen of Archery. Probably by practicing the photo shooting of the same theme for so many times, you find "it" in the shot. I chose this photo from Junji's earlier work to my Wow! gallery, as this is a special scene where the moon appears on top of the island, and you can see more clearly about the delicate structure of the island (the shrine and the big trees). Please enjoy his wonderful world!

writerinalife says: There are over millions of photos you can find in Flickr and countless Photo streams, and there are so many beautiful and perfect pictures. But after giving favorites/awards and writing some nice feedback, how many pictures would you come back to look at again? Eugenio2011's Photostream is a place I would like to come back to revisit these photos from time to time. These are such photos that, the more you look at, the more ideas and feelings you find - just like home or a place to recharge your thoughts. I chose this London skyline photo from Eugenio2011's stream as a representation to my Wow gallery. Please enjoy the details :-)

writerinalife says: I have only recently encountered Bibi Barbie's photo stream and am very impressed about the highly professional and artistic photo work of hers. There are a lot of fantastic landscape photograph with or without people, clear or misty, day or night, colorful or colorless and each of them gives a very great feeling. This photo taken showing a misty coverage of the town infrastructure, which is original and very extraordinary. I really have to say "Wow!"

writerinalife says: Picture taken in one of the oldest county in South East China. This beautiful black-and-white picture brings the audience deep into the forest, feeling the light beams waving through the tree trunks. The farmer and his companion water buffalo also brought the audience to the calmness of ancient-China time. I could even feel the bird singing from this perfect photography.

writerinalife says: I enjoy viewing this broken glass picture from Jim Choate very much. The theme is simple - it's a block containing 24 broken glass units - but the overview of the 24 different units isn't just an easy subject. The high-contrast process simplifies the holes and meanwhile gives the audience a lot of imagination about how the holes look like. To me it is a very interesting picture and therefore should be in my Wow! gallery.

writerinalife says: Each artist/photographer has his/her own style, including how he/she maintains the photo stream. I have enjoyed the photo stream of Arx Zyanos containing series of architecture photography. Unlike the usual architecture photographs, Arx Zyanos' photography is rather a show-off of how architectures can be composed and framed in a way that you find the balance out of asymmetry, and that you are not bored by dull symmetry. I am very fascinated by this style, as if there is a secret recipe or magic behind. This photograph I selected from Arx Zyanos's photo stream, gives me this wow feeling. Try zooming in to enjoy the high resolution details!!

writerinalife says: In my point of view, Brandon Hilder is an experimental photographer, and an excellent photographer. In his photostream, I really got inspired by a lot of his photography from experiments, one of which is to capture the movement of painting dye in different actions (Paint Abuse series) using high speed photography. In this image I selected for my Wow! gallery, the dye was coming out from a centrifuge - how amazing, really cool and wow!

writerinalife says: I would call Desperate John an photographer, a digital artist and an artist. Desperate John's photostream has three main series - photography (most of these pictures are only given a number; a lot of them were portraits of a subject in a black background), Imagined (digital art composing images from different sources into a brand new image of a specific theme), and Irrelevant Monkey (photography/images of a plastic spider monkey). It has been a pleasure for me to view Desperate John's Photostream. I felt especially inspired by the Imagined series, although a lot of the images in this series convey serous topics such as war, death, illness, hunger, pain, suffering, depression...etc, strangely, the images were so well composed that they give a harmonized and beautiful feeling, a little bit funky, and a little bit Gothic. I selected the Imagined 19 as an example for my Wow! gallery.

writerinalife says: Picture of the Apache County in Arizona, USA. The photographer and artist, Monty Jackson has a semi-realistic series of Arizona photographs. From the series, I chose the Apocalyptic Forrest to add to my collection. The Apocalyptic Forrest has the key elements of Monty Jackson's artwork - contradiction, exaggeration and balance, such as saturated colors in low light, Gothic trees, lightning, falcon and super moon against heavenly skies. The image might be depressive, just like the title suggested, but this composition is extraordinary and rich in imaginations - very impressive.

writerinalife says: Cyclase's photostream has a nice series of portraits on various subjects (from statue, human to animal), and a beautiful series of landscape photography for scenery from day to night, urban to rural. The photography has a wide range from color-rich to monochrome, single shots, panorama to long time exposure, and macro to wide-angle, each of them has a special perspective and story behind. I selected this Jumpy picture as an example from Cyclase's monochrome photography. The well-captured moment of flying crows in a foggy day and the high-contrast processing is an excellent art - it is just so beautiful, so dream-like and so story-telling, very inspiring!

writerinalife says: I enjoy a lot of Caroline Gray's photography. Her Photostream has a lot of excellent, amazing photographs in the themes of beaches/water, sunset, silhouette, dancers etc. I selected this Aviary of the Mind picture to my Wow! Gallery, as this picture is a typical Caroline's photography - colors of serenity, perfect framing, natural and amazing scenery!

writerinalife says: I recently encountered Francesc Candel's highly-selected photostream and was very impressed by the beautiful presentation and the stories told by each photography. I was also very surprised to get great responses and feedback from interacting with him, even though there are already so huge amount of followers and favorites of Francesc's photostream. Most of the images in his photostream have very few words and even without a title, but each of them is accompanied by a music/song that allows you to enter the scenery from your ears. I selected this image of a highway road to my Wow! gallery, as I think this is a very classic example of Francesc's photography. The image is so beautiful, containing so many levels of details (multiple layers of mountains and clouds; lights vs. shadows, highlights and darkness; prominent bushes followed by bare trees; bright and neat lines from the highway against the rough surface, almost colorless fields...etc) and yet the tone is so dark, so cliff-hanging, haunting you and making you want to come back to visit again. WOW!

writerinalife says: Jose Manuel Ros Jurado's photostream has a beautiful series of semi-realistic photography about Greece. In his photography, audience can see frequent elements of sea gals, tides, unique lighting and ships. The way the picture is composed and processed, makes the image very dream-like and serene, and beautiful like an oil-painting. I chose this Las conchas to my Wow! gallery as an example from Jose Manuel Ros Jurado's photo series.

writerinalife says: Dimitri D has an amazing series of Macro photography, and also a beautiful series of Ruins photography of Greece. Among his Macro series, this Praying Mantis picture gave me a Wow! feeling and inspired me to organize this gallery of Wow! pictures. I really love the face of the mantis - (I didn't know that the mantis has pseudopupils), the direction its pseudopupils moved, making the face very funny and comic-like.

writerinalife says: I love Steve Taylor's artistic photography (or photographic art) and the humor given to the images. One typical characteristic of Steve Taylor's photography/artwork is the textures and colors enhanced/added to a photo image. I am not sure how it is done and if there is a name to such method, but I feel that this is Vincent Van Gogh's style to transform an image to an art, and as an audience I really enjoy it. The Lights in the Sky is an example I chose from Steve Taylor's photo/artwork series.
