Black Rocks 5 Mile Race - Runners Snake-out Towards the Rocks
Most years Mags and I watch the Black Rocks 5 Race out from Kinghorn across Pettycur Beach and Burntisland Sand-flate out the Black Rocks (normally surrounded by water except at very low tides), round the rocks then back uyp a steep slope at Pettycur to the finish line. Around 900 top club-runners and charity fun runners contest the event, running over tarmac, soft sand, hard-packed wet sand and water. All in all a gruelling experience, but great for the spectators. It was sunny and windless late yesterday afternoon which was ideal. This photo was used by our local paper, The Fife Free Press (not a free paper) on their race-results article. Seven of the eight shots that they used in their race-spread, over two pages were photos that I sent to them.
