Watching Mummy on Elie Beach

This is a salute to the fact that Summer has now ended in the UK (but did it ever arrive this year)? This archive shot taken on our favourite Elie Beach shows a mother scooping up sea-water in a bucket, watched by her children. I had asked permission from the lady to photograph her and her charming children and she agreed to this. Another shot showing the same three figures was used as the basis of an oil-painting, by St Andrews artist, Linda Paton.
