Crannog Centre - the Quest for Fire
Yesterday we took DenverDwight and his wife Debbie (from Colorado, USA) on a lightning tour of the Trossachs. Here is one of two photos from the Scottish Crannog Centre at Kenmore, where demonstrator Charlotte did quite the best display of making fire using a bow, drill and fire-basket that we had ever seen (see other photo of the bow and drill technique). On the day, we were also involved in the rescue of an English lady who had fallen 15-16 feet from the rocks to land just above the water, at the beautiful Hermitage, near Dunkeld. Our American Flickerites got more than than they had bargained for yesterday. Of course like most people we have met through Flicker they are a charming couple and seemed to have enjoyed their Scottish experiences. Various other Scottish Flickerites have showed them their parts of the country.
