The Peak of El Teide (Tenerife) from above the Sea of Clouds
We had gorgeous weather the day we visited El Teide National Park and it is marvelous to be above the clouds which lap onto the forested slopes and which really did look like a sea from all angles. Just a couple of weeks before we arrived Tenerife had experienced the heaviest snowfall for 35 years and the snow had reached down to a level of 1500 metres. The road we were driving down had still been closed due to snow until a few days before this, so we were very lucky to see the volcanic complex from this viewpoint.
