Conditions Were a Bit Hazardous at The Harbour Today
One of three photos from stormy Dysart. Today we had a high tide combined with an easterly gale, so conditions were the worst since part of the East Pier at Dysart Harbour was demolished by a storm in 1969. Tomorrow the tide is supposed to be a little higher! The guys on the south pier were hauling out small boats that had been washed from their moorings. One of them later had to go to hospital to get his ear sewn back-on. The cold and the fact he was wearing a hat meant that he didn't notice his injury until blood started seeping down his neck. He drove himself to hospital? Tough these sailing types.
Please excuse the quality of my photos, because it was tough keeping the camera and lens dry and I was being buffetted by some nasty winds!
