The Ruined Harbour at Seafield

I always thought this was a ruined sea-wall, until someone told me that it was a failed attempt to establish a new harbour (towards the end of the 19th century). It was meant to transport coal and there was supposed to be a spur line from the main Edinburgh-Dundee railway line and new station called Kirkcaldy Sands was also planned there. None of these events happened and long-established harbours at Methil and Weymss blocked the harbour enterprise and it failed. All in all it seems to have been an ill-founded commercial scheme. I'll have to do some further research on this.
