Fulmar Serenade
Fulmars greeting each other on the return of the male to the nest! In and out of Explore on 5 May 2008.
The Fulmar (fulmarus glacialis) is not a gull, but a relative of the petrel. It has a shorter hooked beak compared to most gulls and flies/glides with a much stiffer wing action than seagulls do!
This photo will be used with my permission as an illustration in a Norwegian published, wildlife and travel guide to come out in 2010.
