Superbia
If you are taking the task of reading through all this, you have my appreciation and also a recommendation, listen to "Gold" by Imagine Dragons, while you do so, here's a fragment that fits Ren:
I'm dying to feel again,
Oh anything at all,
But oh I feel nothin', nothin', nothin', nothin'
BJDChallenge's has two upcoming deadlines as I've mentioned already, the other Challenge is "The 7 Sins"
Now, raise your hand if you were 100% sure I was going to do Lust *raises hand*
Well nope, as tempting as it was and as sure as I am I will do that anyway one day just because, I wanted to go and try one of the other sins, one that would not be that easy and be more challenging... So, Pride was the chosen one, but let me say, all the time I was working on this the word in my mind was the Latin one: SUPERBIA. Why? Because it's closer to the Spanish word for that Sin: Sobrebia, and also, for me, it makes even more sense as the name of the Sin as it goes beyond pride, it's also about diminishing others, looking over them, getting too self centred and place yourself above everyone else. Pride also gets me back to thinking of nice things like being proud of accomplishing something you were struggling with and things like that, so... SUPERBIA, keep that word in mind XD
I also did a work long time ago for School (LOOOONG time ago) and it was then when I actually came across the names of the 7 Sins in Latin and it all made more sense then, it's like it fits them better (must be my Spanish speaking brain's fault XD)
So, took over 50 fotos... had to struggle with light again plus the fact that the Ronen's light skin bounces the light and makes it harder >_< The boy needs a couple of extra coats of shading on his body XD
Picked only three cause I wanted to use the English, the Latin and the Greek word for Pride and not make a massive either
So I give you Ren as Pride, Superbia and Hubris. (the boy has an problem with it anyways so it does fit him!)
Also, wiki copy/paste for those of you who feel like reading more after all my babbling:
In almost every list, pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris (Greek), is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and the source of the others. It is identified as believing that one is essentially better than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others, and excessive admiration of the personal self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God); it also includes vainglory (Latin, vanagloria) which is unjustified boasting. Dante's definition of pride was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbour". In Jacob Bidermann's medieval miracle play, Cenodoxus, pride is the deadliest of all the sins and leads directly to the damnation of the titulary famed Parisian doctor. In perhaps the best-known example, the story of Lucifer, pride (his desire to compete with God) was what caused his fall from Heaven, and his resultant transformation into Satan. In Dante's Divine Comedy, the penitents are burdened with stone slabs on their necks which force them to keep their heads bowed.
