Northern Ireland's Courts & the UK Supreme Court

by qublaw

On Friday, 10th February, the School of Law organised another special session for international students who joined the School this academic year.
The session was led by Professor Brice Dickson who explained to students the court structure in Northern Ireland and specified how it interacts with the court system in England and Wales, including the UK Supreme Court.
Examples were given of pathways through the court system, focusing on cases from Northern Ireland that have ended up in the UK Supreme Court.
This session precedes international students' visit to the Royal Court of Justice, which is scheduled this week.
Overall, these extracurricular activities are aimed to help students who joined the School of Law from outside the European Union to familiarise themselves with local institutions and processes so that they can benefit from their educational experience at Queen's to the fullest.
