The pond ice is starting to melt. There is now a small area of open water on the far side, and the ducks are starting to show up. I believe the left hand duck is an eclipse plumage male, not a female. They were dabbling near a diving ring-necked duck. I read that they sometimes steal food from the diving ducks, but they were well behaved on my watch. I got lucky and caught the one good light window on an otherwise dreary day.
