Minnesota Twins Trade Deadline 2025

The 2025 MLB Trade Deadline has passed and the Minnesota Twins have shocked the baseball world and their fanbase.

Leading up to the deadline most fans and others across the game were expecting the Twins to trade a few players as the Twins hopes of making the postseason slipped away after falling to a record of 51-57.

The Twins ended up trading away 10 players off of their active 26 man roster, that's nearly 40% of the team. If you include Twins minor league pitcher Randy Dobnak the Twins ended up trading away 11 players in total. A few players that were traded had many years of team control left as well which makes it even more shocking.

Players that were traded off of the active roster include SS Carlos Correa, OF Harrison Bader, LHP Danny Coulombe, RHP Louie Varland, CL Jhoan Duran, RHP Brock Stewart, UTL Willi Castro, SP Chris Paddack, RHP Griffin Jax and 1B Ty France.

This no doubt marks the start of a rebuild for the Twins just 2 years after the 2023 season where the Twins broke their postseason curse and beat the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL Wild Card.

Instead of building on that 2023 team ownership decided to cut payroll to "right size the operation". Now after a season and a half of disappointing baseball the team has entered rebuild mode while the team is still up for sale by current ownership.

Fans across Twins Territory are frustrated more than ever after the events of the past few days.

Here's to hoping the Twins will bounce back from this and have a competitive team sooner than later.
