Draught numbers on the bow of HMS Belfast on the River Thames near Tower Bridge. The numbers indicate how deeply the ship is sitting in the water and sailors can use this to determine things I don't really understand.

The Belfast was launched in 1938 and saw action with the Atlantic convoys, at D-Day and in the Far East. Due to scrapped in the late 60s, the Belfast was bought by a trust which opening it as a museum ship in 1971. It has been part of the Imperial War Museum since 1978.
