Wearing my barefoot Asics on some long walks

Still wearing my soleless "barefoot" Asics. The right shoe sole has completely split. I did a quick repair with a staple, but the staple unfolds and sticks into my foot. It finally wore through and broke on one of my walks, I replaced it with another, but I need to do a somewhat more permanent repair.
